Local Business Interview: Alyssa Behmanesh

StayRooted Entertainment (SRE) is committed to community, and we recognize that one of the most significant staples of a thriving community is local businesses. Texas is home to thousands of small businesses, working to provide for their “village” and bring authenticity to business practices.

StayRooted is excited to highlight local businesses and professionals, including Alyssa Behmanesh, a local DFW real estate expert, for our magazine’s “Home” theme. We got to sit down with her and talk career, community, an family.

Alyssa has been helping families and individuals find their homes all over DFW since her career as a real estate advisor took off. She knows Tarrant County like the back of her hand, and as someone who purchased their first house with Alyssa’s help, I can say working with her is nothing but positive energy and dedication.

Alyssa provides accurate Market Analyses, a property search portal, and works to suit her clients home search criteria to find them their dream property.

Getting to Know Alyssa Behmanesh, a DFW Real Estate Pro

[SRE] What inspired you to get into real estate in the first place?

[AB] It was actually my amazing husband who first suggested I get into real estate! I’ve always had a genuine desire to help others, bring value, and make a positive impact in people’s lives. Throughout my career, I’ve intentionally sought roles that allowed me to do just that. Before real estate, I worked as a manager in the fitness industry (which is also where I met my husband 😊). I absolutely loved that chapter, but I reached a point where I was ready for a new challenge and the opportunity to grow both personally and financially as we started thinking about our family’s future.

[AB] Real estate had always intrigued me, and the more I learned about it, the more I realized it was a perfect blend of everything I love: connecting with people, problem-solving, and helping others through meaningful life transitions. Once I got licensed, I went ALL in! I left my job and committed fully to building my business. That original ‘why’ of wanting to help others improve their lives still very much so drives me today. Whether it’s guiding first-time buyers through the process, navigating the sale of their home, or supporting clients as they take their next big step, I approach each transaction with the same heart and dedication that inspired me to start in the first place.

[SRE] Do you remember the first home you ever sold—and how it felt to hand over those keys?

[AB]  I could never forget my first clients or my first sale! Real estate is a really tough industry to break into, and I knew realistically it could take six months to a year before closing my first transaction. Luckily, I have the most supportive family EVER!🥲 My aunt Dee and uncle Tim decided to wait until I got my license so I could be the one to list their home. I was so overcome with gratitude that they trusted me, a brand-new agent, with something so important. Family or not, selling your home is a big deal, and that faith in me meant everything.

[AB] Looking back, there are definitely things I would do differently today with the experience I’ve gained, but we made it through to the finish line, and seeing their smiles at closing was the best feeling in the world. That moment really solidified for me that I was exactly where I was meant to be.

Connecting Community through Real Estate

[SRE] How has working in real estate changed how you see your own community?

[AB] Real estate is nothing without community! It has opened my eyes to just how incredibly diverse and awesome the DFW area is. I love what a melting pot we have, all of the different cultures, and the stories they bring- we are so lucky here. No matter where you come from, the place you call home is more than just a house. It is the walk you will take to the local coffee shop, the person you’ll say hello to along the way and maybe make an unexpected friendship with, the little everyday happenings in your community that make life, life!

[AB] Being in this business has helped me feel more connected with folks. It’s made me realize that we all have things happening in our lives, both good and challenging, and sometimes we just need someone to lean on and trust to guide us through those moments.  I love being that person for my clients. Beyond real estate, I’ve discovered so many amazing local businesses and connections that make our community special. Building relationships and watching people grow here is honestly one of my favorite parts of what I do. Amazing things happen when we can all come together!

[SRE] You helped Josh and I find our home, and you made it feel easy—what’s your secret to keeping people calm in such a high-stress process?

[AB] First I have to say, you and Josh were both INCREDIBLE to work with!  When it comes to buying a home in a high stress environment, y’all did just that. And you should both be extremely proud of yourselves for doing one of the hardest things ever, and that was buying a house during COVID pandemic/ 2021. The real estate market at that time was unlike anything we have ever seen, and y’all bought a home during one of the most competitive markets we have ever experienced for buyers.

[AB] I am so glad that it was easy feeling for you, because that is truly the ultimate goal. I fully believe that in order to truly serve my clients and to work together in these situations, it’s important to not only know what my client wants to accomplish for their real estate goals, but to understand their “why”. I take helping them with their life transitions very personally, so my clients trust in me and my advice and that I will always be advocating for them. We preemptively do things to avoid them, but if issues arise, we walk through them together. I love to educate folks and keep them informed, so taking the mystery out of the process also helps!

The Emotional Responsibility of a Real Estate Advisor

[SRE] When someone works with you, what do you hope they take away from the experience (besides a house they love)?

[AB] I want every person I work with to be able to walk away from the closing table and ask, “Was it supposed to feel that easy??”. I want them to have full confidence that they just made the best decision for themselves with the information they received from my guidance and expertise. My slogan is “Your Experience Matters” for a reason – I believe that you deserve to not only receive the best terms on your real estate transaction, but to feel like you have someone in your corner that is always looking out for your best interests, keep you informed, and have fun along the way. I really hold dear and try to live my life through my grandfather’s philosophy – K-FISH which stands for Knowledge, Follow-up, Integrity, Sincerity, and Honesty. These values mean everything to me, and are the guiding forces when serving my clients.

[SRE] How has being a mom changed the way you see the idea of “home”?

[AB] When you become a parent, so much of who you are and how you view the world changes. Growing up, home wasn’t always a safe and happy place for me, so it was a very important goal of mine to create that for my future family. For me since becoming a mom, “home” is where I can spend time with my son and husband, and create precious memories together, a place where no matter what is going on within the world, we will always have that special place together. Having a house and four walls for protection is something that everyone deserves, and within it it’s those small every day moments that we create that transforms it into “home”. It’s that feeling of knowing there’s always a place to return to full of love, and that’s the feeling I hope I can pass on to my children.

[SRE] Finally, I like to end on a fun question. Since you are also a big fan of anime, I gotta know—which anime character would be a dream client and who would be a nightmare client?

[AB] I absolutely love this question and really had to think about it! As someone who is obsessed with anime, I have seen more than I can count, so that means a lot of great characters to choose from. For a dream client, I would have to pick Tanjiro from Demon Slayer! He had to overcome some extreme hardships and loss, and always has helping his family at the forefront of his mind. He is someone who believes in working hard, always keeps a positive attitude, and is so cool! He would be an awesome client, and I know the journey would be just as rewarding as the destination when working together.

[AB] When it comes to someone that I think would be a nightmare client – I love her, but Umaru from  Himouto! Umaru-chan would totally be a nightmare client! When she is at home or in her true form, she is obscenely lazy, super messy, neglects her responsibilities, and doesn’t like when she doesn’t get what she wants. When I’m helping a client, these character traits would be extremely difficult to work with and would have a hard time navigating a successful closing.
